SURI’ ED AJAN
"Surì” Rosso, a Barbera d’Asti, is the flagship wine produced using only grapes from special vineyards on our estate. These wines were initially conceived many years ago, when vine-dressing and winemaking techniques were not so advanced as they are today.
Some good friends and valued customers asked us to produce a rich, full Barbera for their pleasure, one that was less structured and demanding than the others on the market, and we decided to take a special selection of grapes from our vineyards.
That was the spark that led to the creation of these wines, whose easygoing appeal quickly resulted in their success around the world. Highly regarded international chefs have been pleased to discover excellent Piedmontese wines that are regularly available at consistently high quality levels.
In fact, in recent years the wines have been well received on the international market, obtaining high scores in professional wine tastings. Robert M. Parker, in "The Wine Advocate", recently gave an 89 point score to the Surì Barbera d’Asti of our most recent vintage.
Encouraged by these successes, we have recently introduced a "Surì" white, made with a combination of Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Cortese grapes and especially fruity and smooth, a very appealing wine.
